Theres been a continuous buzzing in my head n i'm feeling kinda numb.. Its the third night since the terrorist attack in Mumbai started n i'm just praying it ends today. I've been stuck to the TV watching it all. Its really sad to see the death of so many innocent people n the collapse of security in such a manner.
It began just out of the blue. On a normal seeming Wednesday evening theres sudden firing at such unexpected places n the reason is unknown. A gangwar or a terrorist attack is speculated. Finally the reason is known n suddenly its gravity is understood. Then theres the NSG called all the way from Delhi. The operation goes on and on while every second i'm thinking that now its gonna end.
I never imagined it would drag on for so long or that the terrorists would be so well armed. It all began while i had been studying for my practicals. Well that exam of mine did get postponed n i'm really thankful.
I'm also thankful that my parents do not work in or around that area. I'm just very remotely connected to it coz i use the CST bound train for bout 8-10 minutes but still it scares me.
I haven't been able to concentrate much on anything else. And i feel really sorry for all those people injured and killed. The number of casualties seem to be even more than recent bomb blasts. Though its all so tragic i must really thank all the commandos n the police force which has been working hard. And i salute them and the martyrs.

Finally today evening i felt really light after there was this candle-lighting ceremony in our colony...

the fact that people even in a small colony like vasant vihar, miles away from any sort of danger,or relation to the attacks, pay homage to their fellow martyrs in such an honorable way, shows the spirit of the nations people. Its time our country stood up to terrorism and cleared this blemish off its prosperous face.I personally feel, that the elections are nothing but a painful exercise that doesnt build muscle. What is required now is a movement,a movement that can take this country to heights it should have reached already by now,a movement that can,un-politically,solve the problem of strategy and intelligence in our defense systems that we lack,a movement that will help in building a backup plan for an inflammable situation such as this...something that politicians, prime ministers, home ministers can ever achieve in their lifetime, let alone in their tenure!a movement led by none other than the people of India, who as a unit have a heart, and a soul to take this beloved country where it belongs in the worlds standing...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Minu & with Harikesh too...
ReplyDeleteWell, I did like to see what MNS ppl have to say about this.
NSG commandos did not say,"We are not 'Marathi manoos', so we wont fight in Mumbai"...
I guess its time for politicos to clear up their act & mind the country's business seriously rather than try and divide a multicultural city like Mumbai.
